Well, this is my first blog post ever! I have always want to blog, but I have never thought my life was exciting enough or I would run out of things to say once I did start blogging.
Lately, my life has been so crazy busy that I rarely have time to just sit down and do nothing. Balancing my internship, work, school and running schedule has been pretty tough, but I have definitely managed. Honestly, I would rather be busy than be sitting around on my couch feeling like I should be doing something though. The only thing that has been pretty un-motivating is this cold weather! I am not fan of winter. I cannot wait for it to be 100 degrees out with 100% humidity, no joke. It takes so much time for me to motivate myself to get out the door to run every single day. I do however see a warm up coming soon in the forecast and I AM SO EXCITED.
That's enough of me complaining about the weather. Back to my work and my internship. My internship is with The Arc of Northwest Mississippi. It is an organization that advocates for special needs children and their families. I LOVE LOVE LOVE being an intern for them. It is so laid back, and since they are a new chapter I have been able to give them suggestions for PR that they truly need to get the ball rolling. So far, I have attended events with them to network and various events put on for special needs children.
With this internship I have been able to put my writing and InDesign skills to use. Yesterday, I got to start working on making business cards and flyers. I’m so indecisive when it comes to design though that it takes me a bit longer to get it just right.
Now it is time to spend the next two hours motivating myself to walk outdoors. The wintertime struggle is SO REAL.
