Many people can argue strategies for time management. Whether you're the organized type, procrastinator, or the one in between, time management is beneficial at some point to everyone's life. Being a #JournoIntern, I have come to realize that being punctual and understanding the importance of deadlines is imperative. I am often working with multiple clients at one time so my planner is my other half. It goes wherever I go. Being able to know your schedule not only shows professionalism but it puts you ahead of those who may not be fans of being so timely. There is no way in a fast-paced environment anyone can grow and become better at their career if procrastination often occurs. Being a procrastinator may get you from point “A” to “B” but if you're trying to get all the way to “Z” it may eventually catch up with you. Being able to manage time efficiently is key to keeping up and being the best at a job!
I personally manage my time with spread sheets, weekly memos, and if I'm super busy I create an hourly task sheet. Each week Champ'Sol Sports Management requires us to turn in a “prospective management list,” where we research venues, magazines, organizations, and other potential appearance-oriented places for clients to make appearances and profits. After we find these places, we are to follow up and see if any are interested in connecting with any of our clients (depending on the relativity of the prospect and our athlete client). Through working closely with Champ'Sol Sports Management I have learned how to tackle all of this in order to stay on top of my work and to present myself in an organized and professional manner. This along with other characteristics will hopefully help me in the near future with snagging that perfect career.
