So, guys. It turns out that my new internship working with Jack Sammons of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport comes with a bit of an added opportunity. The Authority has a new public information officer who is working on some new projects for Memphis International Airport. I got to meet him along with the Authority’s president at the board meeting a couple of weeks ago. (By the way, the Authority is the governing body over Memphis International.)
Since the meeting, I’ve begun performing some communications work for them. So far I’ve done some press release editing, created two new press releases and done some communications audits of other airports’ social media pages. Over the next few days, I’ll begin work on a new website for a program the airport handles. Guys, I’m pretty excited about this creative opportunity. While, I enjoy writing, I also love creating visual content and combining the two. I think this website is the perfect opportunity to do just that.
As always, working downtown continues to be a nice experience. We have another young worker here now, and it’s been fun getting to know her. A walk down the South Main Trolley Line is always great- and even better with a partner in crime. I may be soon relocating offices though. We will see.
Just for fun, here’s a webcam pic I snapped in the office the other day. Please don’t tell on me.
Later,
Crys
